2000 • Founded by Vickie Madison
2001 Annual Youth Service Systems Forum
• 2001 Asset Builders Award, Peninsula Asset Builders Coalition
2002 • From EGC's first graduating class of 19 members in 2002, 13 members attended college, eight received under-graduate degrees; four of the eight are pursuing graduate degrees.
2003 • Awarded an evaluation grant for $15,000 from the Virginia Governor's Office of Substance Abuse Prevention
2004 • Outstanding Youth Program in the Greater Peninsula Area (VA), 25th Annual Youth Service Systems Forum
2005 • Received 501(c)(3) Nonprofit tax status
• Selected as the Signature Project of the Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach, Inc.
• Outstanding Asset Builder for An Organization, Newport News Commission on Youth
• Began first South Hampton Roads (VA) Site, River Crest Community Center
2006 • Became a United Way Write-in Organization
• Salty Sister Award by Mothers Raising Sons and Virginia Male
