Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron Brings National Speaking Tour to Excellence Girls Club, Inc. Of Virginia
Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron will be our guest for the Excellence Girls’ Club’s 10th Anniversary Celebration Meet and Greet. The activity a partnership with Chesapeake Parks and Recreation will include a Miss America question and answer session and remarks by Deputy City Manager Wanda Bernard-Bailey, Interim Director of Parks and Recreation. The program will be led by the Excellence Girls’ Club at River Crest Community Center membership.
Miss America 2010 is on a national speaking tour promoting the Miss America Organization and her personal platform. She is also the Goodwill Ambassador for MAO’s national platform partner, Children’s Miracle Network. In this role, she travels the country raising awareness about CMN and visiting children’s hospitals across North America.

Background Information:
The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship achievement for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance at the local, state and national levels. The Miss America Organization provides young women with a vehicle to further their personal and professional goals and instills a spirit of community service through a variety of unique nationwide community-based programs. On an annual basis, Miss America state and local titleholders, along with the Organization’s network of volunteers participate in more than 9,000 community-service projects, providing in excess of 500,000 service hours to worthy causes.
The Excellence Girls Club, Inc., a non-profit, 501(C)(3) organization, seeks to reach middle and high school-age girls who display untapped academic and leadership potential. It strives to empower young women by exposing them to positive experiences while developing leadership skills that will enhance their ability to become future leaders. Founded in 2000 by Vickie Madison, the group has guided numerous young ladies to continue their education in both undergraduate and graduate studies and have cultivated many rising visionaries in the community.
